Successful Recovery from Harmful/Difficult Relationships Empowerment Workshop on January 28th 2024, and the follow-up 15 hours of self-study and activities, you will focus on understanding and then addressing how to build a recovery from damaging relationships. The programme is based on your empowerment, providing you with understandings, knowledge, skills, and tools to help jump start self-healing skills and processes.  This includes:

  • How to understand what happened to you through finding out about coercive control, abuse, and trauma and how these can affect us all after a bad relationship.
  • How to identify and tackle issues of negative thinking, self-criticism, and feelings of ‘not being enough’, for instance, using cognitive behavioural and other techniques,
  • How to use relaxation, meditation and very basic self-hypnosis, and other techniques to address difficult feelings and situations and calm your mind to address with stress and anxiety,
  • How to harness self-compassion to support feeling better day-by-day,
  • How to better identify and protect yourself from negative relationships in the future (remembering that you are never to blame for the abuse of others, but on some occasions, there are indicators that can alert you to potential problems).

You will learn some ideas within the full group of participants and then will break up into smaller groups with your tutor for the day. You will get the chance to meet new people, share and network and learn skills to help you recover from damaging relationships.

The Venue – Where does the day workshop take place?

The workshop, which runs 10am to 6pm (including an hour lunch break) takes place at Yarnfield Park in Stone, Staffordshire.  This beautiful dedicated training venue offers a place of contemplation with plenty of room to take a break or a breather in the building or outside when you might need. It is easily accessible from the M6, junctions 14 and 15, allowing access from the North of England and the Midlands. Stone also has a train station, which is linked to mainline routes.

What does the Programme Price Include?

  • Full day attendance at Yarnfield Park, Stone, Staffordshire, 10-6pm.
  • Traditional and herbal teas, coffee, and water throughout the day.
  • Pens and stationery for use during the workshop.
  • Lunch at the cafeteria at Yarnfield Park.
  • All the activities of the day, working in the main group and with your tutor in a smaller learning group.

The follow up self-paced learning resource includes reflective exercises, podcasts, relaxation and self-affirming meditation and hypnotherapy resources and an opportunity to further understand red flags for relationships identified by Psychologists, Criminologists and Therapists. You can do this self-paced at any time up to twelve months after the course date. You can choose to do as much or as little as you wish on the self-paced study over that twelve months and may return to the resources to repeat sections or use the relaxation resources and so forth, when you wish during that time.
